  • CYNTHIA D. BROWN EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

    Award Amount: TWO – $750 each (1 High School Senior and 1 College/Technical Student)

    2/5/24 – Application available on website

    4/16/24 – Deadline for submission of application

    REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS

    Must be a graduating high school senior and accepted in a post-secondary program.

    Applicant must submit a copy of letter of acceptance from college/university you will be attending.

    Must have acquired at least a 2.5 GPA.

    Must provide most recent transcript with initial application. Mid-year grades must be submitted for completion of application before May deadline which includes mid-year grades.

    Eligible applicants must be young women who are African American or of African descent. 

    Must have completed the number of community service hours required by your high school.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR COLLEGE/TECHNICAL STUDENTS

    Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary or technical program.

    Must have acquired at least a 3.0 GPA.

    Must provide most recent transcript including mid-year grades.

    Eligible applicants must be young women who are African American or of African descent. 

    Must have one or more years of civic engagement, civic participation and/or community involvement.

    FOR ALL APPLICANTS:

    Applicants must complete the 300-word essay. The essay should tell a story about you as well as how the scholarship will assist you in your future endeavors to influence your community.

    Must submit 2 signed letters of recommendation (preferably teacher or counselor). No letter from family members will be accepted.

    The scholarship winners will be contacted by phone and by email and publicized on the 20/20 Sisters of Vision website.
